What division will I contract with when I apply for an OANDA Account?

Your OANDA division is based on your country of residence. Kindly be aware that our account applications are processed in line with regulatory and legislative requirements.

OANDA opens accounts for clients from most countries, but we regret that we are unable to consider applications from residents of a few countries at this current time. You can confirm your ability to register by visiting our registration page and entering your country of residence on the account application page.

All applications are assessed on an individual basis and there is a small chance your application may not be successful, regardless of where you reside. Below is a list of OANDA’s divisions:

OANDA Corporation is a registered Futures Commission Merchant and Retail Foreign Exchange Dealer with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and is a member of the National Futures Association . No: 0325821. Residents of the US and its territories , with either a valid social security number or US visa entry document (or similar) can apply to open an account with OANDA Corporation.

OANDA Europe Limited is a company registered in England number 7110087, and has its registered office at Floor 9a, Tower 42, 25 Old Broad St, London EC2N 1HQ. It is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority No: 542574. Residents of the UK may apply for an OANDA Europe account. Apart from the UK, non EU EEA countries and British overseas territories may be eligible to apply. OANDA (Canada) Corporation ULC accounts are available to anyone with a Canadian bank account. OANDA (Canada) Corporation ULC is regulated by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) (CIRO), which includes CIRO's online advisor check database (CIRO AdvisorReport) . Residents of Canada with either a valid social insurance number or Canadian visa entry document (or similar) can apply for an account with OANDA Canada. We regret that we are unable to consider applications from residents in the province of Alberta at this time.
Customer accounts are protected by the Canadian Investor Protection Fund within specified limits. A brochure describing the nature and limits of coverage is available upon request or at www.cipf.ca.
